Private Pilot Instruction
I first got to fly a Cessna around age 12 as part of a summer aviation camp – and never forgot it. Model rockets, control line planes and all manner of things that fly have always fascinated me.
I learned to fly here in the Northwest and it turns out that I lucked out – this is an awe-inspiring place to fly, with mountains, islands, airport camping, and access to the aviation playgrounds of Oregon and Idaho and British Columbia just around the corner. I take a deep satisfaction in sharing the knowledge I’ve gained from wonderful aviation mentors to create the next generation of safe, well-rounded pilots.
I have a 20-year background in safety-critical engineering, and bring a deep-rooted safety mindset to all the flying I do.
I also absolutely love teaching – having been raised by two lifelong teachers who instilled an early love of learning in me. Besides teaching flight students at all levels including Private, Instrument and Commercial, I have taught private music lessons, mentored young software engineers, and trained a number of folks in the arts of audio recording and mixing. I firmly believe that almost anyone can learn to safely fly, given the right attitude and work ethic.
